WVO Filter System

You will need to Filter your SVO/WVO down to at least 10 microns to remove any particles. Many people filter to 5 or even as low as 2 microns. You need a way to pour or pump your WVO through a filter system into a holding tank or directly into your conversion tank. However, it is desirable to filter into a holding tank and let that filtered oil settle for 1 to 3 weeks. The Settling allows any moisture/water/bits & pieces slowly sink to the Bottom of the holding tank. Settling is a very important part of the process. Even with filtering you will have a percentage of content in your oil that is Not oil. This should settle out to the bottom. Then, you pump/pour oil from the top 7/8ths of your holding tank into your vehicles conversion tank. The bottom "gravy" is to be disposed of, recycled, composted, mixed with sawdust, compressed and used for firestarter, dumped back in the collection bins for pickup, etc.

There are many home made WVO filter systems which work great. At first you may wish to use a home made filtering system. They are not to difficult to put together. Still, this is one part of the process I believe needs to be made easier for folks to do. Hence, Coming Soon:

A Grease4Fuel WVO filtering system that makes it easy for you to use. (The system is not yet into a production stage. It will be presented here for you ASAP. Meantime, you will have to build your own home made filtering system.)

If you have an easy to use filtering system you would like to share with others please send your ideas to be included here. You will be given all credit for your idea/design. Thanks from all of us.

Here are some common home made Pre-Filtering Systems from the forums. You could easily modify these to fit your needs:
